Zion Trails Closed – Other things to do this Labor Day in Southern Utah

Angels Landing in Zion

Due to recent rain fall, many trails in Zion National Park have been damaged to the point of closure. Since the storms on July 11, 2018, several trails have been closed, and will remain closed through the Labor Day Weekend and until further notice. The trails that are currently closed include: lower West Rim Trail including Angels Landing, Kayenta Trail, and Upper Emerald Pools Trail. The Hidden Canyon Trail was closed August 28 due to a rockfall. Access to the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park will continue to be restricted until work has been completed on the new road.

HikeStGeorge is a project that began as a seedling for Tim LeBaron in the early part of 2008, but really didn’t begin to blossom until the latter part of 2011. The original idea behind the site was to bring to light all of the harder to find, or “less known” hidden gems of the area. It was more of a pet project than anything. As excitement about the site began to spread, there was more of a push to develop information about all hikes in the Southern Utah Region.
