Utah State Parks Open After COVID-19 Closure
State Parks Open
(Utah) Utah’s Governor Herbert introduced the plan to slowly reopen the economy in Utah. Part of that plan included working to open each of the State Parks that had been closed except to “County Visitors Only”.
Some of the State’s 43 parks remain open to County Residents Only, but efforts are being made to get each open to the general public. Snow Canyon State Park, Gunlock State Park, Sand Hollow State Park and Quail Creek State Park are all among the parks that are open for business to the public.

HikeStGeorge is a project that began as a seedling for Tim LeBaron in the early part of 2008, but really didn’t begin to blossom until the latter part of 2011. The original idea behind the site was to bring to light all of the harder to find, or “less known” hidden gems of the area. It was more of a pet project than anything. As excitement about the site began to spread, there was more of a push to develop information about all hikes in the Southern Utah Region.
