TRAIL SUMMARY

Starting from Diamond Valley, Alger Hollow is an easy trail that connects with Lange’s Dugway.  The trail goes deep into the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve where hikers can see a unique view of St. George and even Snow Canyon.  Deer and other wildlife are often seen along the path.  The path offers a great view of Pine Valley Mountain throughout the hike.

DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD

Directions to Trailhead:  Follow S 700 E to Bluff St.  Keep right to continue on State Rd 18 N and Merge onto UT-18 N/Bluff St. Take right onto Diamond Valley Dr and follow for 0.3 mi.  Turn right onto Sapphire Dr.  Continue onto Sapphire Trail. Turn right onto W Amethyst Dr.  The trailhead is on the right.

It is called “Diamond Valley East Trailhead,” but there is a sign for Lava Rocks Trailhead.  Parking and hike information is found at trailhead.
