Eagle Crags - Zion National Park
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Distance: 5.6 miles round-trip
TRAIL SUMMARY
Eagle Crags offers a unique view of Zion National Park. This 5.6 mile hike is located outside of Rockville and features some amazing views. The trail is technically a part of Zion as it moves through land owned by the National Park. Because of its steady incline and length, this is a moderate hike, however, when well prepared, it can be family friendly. Ideally, Eagle Crags should be hiked in the morning. Trees along the hike do offer some shade but not much and sweating attracts flies on some stretches. The single dirt path does contain some rocky and sandy stretches but overall it is not too difficult. Hikers enjoy an amazing and unique view of Zion National Park throughout the entire hike. The hike climbs up the canyon towards the crags. About a mile and half in, the hike opens up to a great view of the South Creek lake. Overall, Eagle Crags is a great hike without entering the main part of Zion.
